This snake was beautiful but in comparison to its family.. It's ugly as all heck. Lol Y'all should look up bushmaster snakes, if you're not aware how beautiful some of them are. Also this snake wasn't "yawning" because it was trying to realign its fangs. It was opening its mouth like that to get an extra big sense of smell, ( taste of these guys to judge if they're a threat) or it had congestion, and was simply trying to get a breathe. Many snakes, especially ones from a tropical region, such as bushmasters, are very susceptible to lung infections. Especially in old age. Often, it causes them to "yawn" like this. Simply to catch their breath.

Bushmasters have one of the longest fangs of all snakes. Alonside gaboon viper, monshan viper etc. However, bushmasters have MUCH more straight fangs like daggers, while gaboons have curved to the max. So, altrough gaboons have longer fangs, its bushmaster who will reach deeper because of the lacking of curviture
